The four most relevant events were:
1) On Tuesday: Peer Advisor Info Session, to became a PA next Fall.
Finger Crossed for the application and many thanks to Yuval! :-)
2) On Wednesday: first match of "Cluster Cup - Basketball". We played against Cluster A that is, as for now, the leader of Cluster Cup. We are in second position, so you can imagine how much we cared about his match! What about the result? We tied... the highest ranking is still open! :-)
This is the best comment we received from one of our beloved PAs:
"Zoolanders,
Amazing job tonight! On the court and off the court, you guys were in top form.
The score may have read that you tied A (thanks to Ben's breathtaking just-buzzer-beating basket!), but I think we all know who were the winners tonight :).
Your PAs are proud of you!
Katherine"
3) On Friday, 9.00-18.00: Odyssey. Odyssey is in part a symposium and in part a competition and the theme of this year is "Adapting & Winning in times of economic turbolence". The leaders who took part in the symposium were:
- Stephen Schuckenbrock,
President of the Large Enterprise Business Unit, Dell
- Howard Mittman,
Publisher, WIRED
- James Turley,
CEO, Ernst & Young
- Mario Vitale,
CEO of Global Corporate, Zurich Financial Services
- Bradley Horowitz,
Vice President, Product Management, Google
In particular, I really appreciated Mario's Vitale speech about How Weathering the Perfect Storm. He consider the global insurance market as a pick up and shared with us the main 4 challenges: (i) Broaden perspective on risk, (ii) Expand in new market, (iii) Prepare for market consolidation and (iv) Become more customer-centric.
I addition, 16 teams that excelled in a preliminary qualification were invited to engage in challenging competition, with representatives from the following institutions: Chicago Booth SoB, China Europe International BS, CBS, HBS, IESE, IMD, INSEAD, Indian Institute of Management, Judge BS, Kellogg SoM, LBS, MIT Sloan, NYU Stern, Stanford Graduate SoB, Tuck SoB, The Wharton School.
4) On Friday, 23.00-...: Italian Party @Amnesia. The first really really ridiculously amazing Italian Party of 2010!! Stefano&Alvise (our VPs of Events) did a very good job. Thank you guys! :-)
