We trekked through the forest on magical trails that lead to some of the most spectacular waterfalls in Costa Rica, a place very few people get to experience. Along the way we had the chance to discover the secrets that lie hidden deep within the canyon...much more than wet All Stars and Gazelle! :)
Our trip began with a 30-minute 4x4 drive into the tropical rainforest outside the town of La Fortuna, in the shadow of the Arenal Volcano. From the first waterfall we rappelled down from the top into the beautiful and pristine canyon below. The whole adventure included five rappels, four of which are along waterfalls and one dry rock face. Then just a short trek out of the canyon, jump in the vehicles and head back to the base camp.

After a soft breakfast at 11.00 am, we then went rafting.
Once we reache the “put in,” we received a safety briefing - a vital
20- to 30-minute discussion about how to be safe on the water.
The guides then carried all the rafts to the river.
We were assigned a boat and a boat captain and jumped in! My captain was Edgar (looking like Bertoncello, really)
Then we headed on down the river for about 2-2 ½ hours! We got some tropical fruit at
the end at a private take out where we could change into dry clothes and then head to the so-called "River House" for an all-you-can-eat, delicious lunch.
